Welcome to the

SNU ORED LABORATORY

(Off-Road Equipment & Soil-Machine Systems Design)

SNU ORED Lab was re-established on March, 2017, located in the Department of Biosystems & Biomaterials Science and Engineering, College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Seoul National University in Republic of Korea.

ORED Lab conducts fundamental research related to design & analysis of various types of components or mechanisms for off-road equipments including agricultural machines, forestry machines, construction equipments and military vehicles to enhance their functional performance, service life and reliability. The research efforts have been focused on design & analysis of gear systems(gearboxes & transmissions), system load analysis, noise & vibration analysis, soil & machine interactions, and simulations of dynamic behavior and performance of off-road machines.

The Laboratory programs are basically designed to provide graduate students with opportunity to study and research in the following fields that are closely-related to the industry:

  • Design and Analysis of Mechanisms for Off-Road Equipment
  • Load Spectrum Analysis and Fatigue Analysis
  • Power Train of Agricultural & Construction Machines
  • Noise and Vibrations Analysis and Controls
  • Performance and Reliability Evaluation of Machine Components
  • Soil-Machine Interactions
